‘Police want to implicate my son in a ‘false’ case: Father of ML leader

SRINAGAR: The family of Muslim League leader, Showkat Hakim, Friday alleged that Police have been trying to ‘implicate’ Hakim in a ‘fabricated’ case and from past many days police raided his house as a result Hakim presented himself before the police to clear the ‘confusion’.

Ghulam Muhammad Hakim, the father of Muslim League leader who hails from Paribal Hajin said that a day after the killing of Sub-Inspector Altaf Ahmed Dar at Dachina Bandipora in a militant attack, the police had been continuously raiding their house and were looking for my son Showkat Hakim.

“The police parties also raided the houses of our relatives,” he said. “A police party informed us that my son is allegedly involved in the killing of Altaf Dar, which is baseless. My son is not a militant and has been living a normal life.”

Hakim added that he was forced to present his son before Hajin Police. “I am afraid that the police may implicate him in a false case,” he said and appealed to government to probe the matter,” the father of Showkat Hakim said.
