NZ HC, ETI to develop Marhama village

ANANTNAG: The Minister for Rural Development, Abdul Haq today visited the Marhama area of South Kashmir’s Bijbehara constituency to take stock of the development activities and recommended the area for inclusion as Model Village under the scheme launched by New Zealand High Commission and ETI Dynamics.

Minister who is also the chairman of District Development Board Anantnag was accompanied by Minister for Horticulture, Hajj and Auqaf A R Veeri, surveyors of the ETI dynamics and various other officials of the district including ACR Anantnag, ADC Anantnag, BDO Anantnag and BDO Bijbehara. .

Urging the New Zealand High Commission and ETI Dynamics to include Marhmaha village under the pilot project and develop it on modern lines, the minister said that ventures like these will make sure that people from each and every area of the state are provided with basic amenities of life like healthcare, food, drinking water supply and education.

He appreciated the efforts of New Zealand High Commission and ETI Dynamics for selecting rural areas of the state under the developmental programme schemes and asked the organisation to take up more villages in other districts of the state as well.
