Man stabbed over land dispute in Poonch


POONCH: A man was stabbed and critically injured after a dispute broke out between him and another group in Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch district.

According to sources, one person namely Abdul Khaliq was constructing a house on his land at Jugal village of Mendhar. However another group comprising of 7 persons objected to the construction and attacked him with a knife hurting him in the abdomen resulting in critical injuries.

The man was immediately rushed to hospital and was later referred to Government Medical College Jammu for treatment where his condition is stated to be critical.

Meanwhile, police have registered a murder case in this regard and booked 7 people which include a Panch and a Forest Guard. Sources said a case under FIR number 125 under section 302, 147, 323 and 452 RPC has been registered in police station Mendhar.

The Panch has been identified as Mukhtar Ahmad and the forest guard has been identified as Muhammad Ifdar. All the accused are absconding and police have started a manhunt to nab them.
