SRINAGAR: Terming the three-day clampdown on internet in Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Eid-ul- Azha as painful, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Monday said that decision was taken by the administration to restrain mischievous elements to create communal divide in the state.
This was a painful decision taken by the administration, but it was taken while keeping various factors into consideration as anything worst could have happened if mischievous elements would have used internet as a tool to sow seeds of discord on this Eid occasion, PDP chief spokesperson, Dr Mehboob Beig said.
While justifying the ban on internet, PDP spokesperson said although the decision was painful and unfortunate but was taken to avoid anything worst to happen.
