PDP to fight Leh Council polls alone

SRINAGAR: In a significant move, BJP coalition partner, the PDP Monday said it will fight the upcoming polls for the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council ( Leh) independently.

According to Peerzada Mansoor, the Political Advisor to PDP President, party would be independently contesting the four seats in the council elections.

In a statement issued today, Mansoor said the PDP in its earlier stint ushered in an era of equitable development in all the regions of the state, including Ladakh. He said the PDP has contributed immensely in the development of the  Ladakh region and is hopeful that the people of Leh will repose faith and confidence in the party in the ensuing elections.
