SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 18: Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash on Friday visited Ompora, Budgam and Shaltaing to assess the functioning of State Industrial Development Corporations (SIDCO) Industrial estates.
The Minister was accompanied by Director Industries, Kashmir Nazim Zia Khan, Managing Director, SIDCO, Ajaz Agha and other senior officers.
During the visit, the Minister was informed that the Department has spent Rs 9 crore on various developmental works including construction of roads, drains, water and power supply on the Ompora Industrial Estate. He asked for holding regular meetings with the stake holders for further developing infrastructure in the estate.
The Minister was told that the Department of IT has been earmarked 150 kanals of land, while 80 kanals are dedicated for developing Bio-Technology Park in the estate. 130 kanals have been allotted for the proposed National Institute of Fashion and Technology. Likewise, ESIC Hospital has been provided 40 kanals of land whileas Geology and Mining Department has been given 30 kanals in the said Industrial estate.
Later, the Minister visited Shaltaing to assess the site and facilities available there.
