Boy drowns in Jhelum at Awantipora

SRINAGAR: Mourning gripped Kumar Mohallah of South Kashmir’s Awantipora after a boy drowned in river Jhelum while taking a bath on Thursday.

“A 15-year-old boy Owais Ahmad Kumar son of Abdul Rashid Kumar resident of Kumar Mohallah Awantipora drowned in River Jhelum while taking a bath,” the police spokesperson said in a statement.

“The body of the deceased was fished out and handed over to his next of kins for last rites.”
