Banned herb worth 4 Cr seized

SRINAGAR : Police have detained a driver of Jammu and Kashmir’s Banihal and seized a banned medicinal herb ‘Nagchattri’ from his possession.

Identified as Mohammad Yasin, police said the man was arrested last evening after 14kg of banned rare medicinal herb (Nagchattri) worth Rs 4 crore was recovered from his possession in Manda area.

“The man was arrested during surprise checking at Manda,” the police official said. “A car was intercepted and during search, 14kg of Nag Chatri which he had concealed in the vehicle was recovered.”
