Srinagar:  Panic gripped among students and the school staff after a contingent of police and Para-military personnel entered into a private school in Babademb area of Srinagar city, asking them to vacate the building saying, “there is an IED in the school”

“We were busy in class work when a police team informed us that an IED has been planted in the school. We were scared and vacated the building in a jiffy,” a teacher said.

Eyewitnesses said that as the bomb disposal squad approached near the bottle, it turned out to be empty, inviting ‘hooting’ from the people.

“We had received information that an IED has been planted in a bottle. The information proved to be a hoax. BDS was called to ensure the safety of the people particularly students,” a police official said. CNS
