Srinagar: Kashmir High Court Bar Association on Monday re-elected noted lawyer Mian Abdul Qayoom as its president.
The results of election were declared by its Election Commission immediately after the counting of votes was concluded in the evening at Sanat Ghar in Bemina here where the polling was held.
Advocate Qayoom won over Advocate G N Shaheen by a margin of 197 votes.
For the post of vice president Advocate Aijaz Bedar won easily against advocate Abdul Ahad Rather by a huge margin of 320 votes.
For the post of General Secretary there was a direct contest between Advocate Bashir Sidiq and Muhammad Ashraf Wani. Sidiq defeated Wani by a margin of 177 votes.
By defeating his rival candidate Shafat Nazir by a margin of 120 votes, Advocate Anwarul-Islam Shaheen was elected as Joint Secretary of Association for next one year. For the post of treasure, Hamid Shafi was declared winner unopposed.
