Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was Tuesday invited for a meeting by the Pakistan High Commission in India on August 23, the day NSA-level talks between the two countries are scheduled to be held at New Delhi.
“Mirwaiz got a call from Pakistan embassy today evening inviting him for a meeting,” Hurriyat sources said.
Pertinently New Delhi had cancelled Foreign Secretary-level talks in August last year after the Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi held consultations with Hurriyat leaders.
Mirwaiz had recently held a meeting with Pakistan High Commissioner at the Eid Milan hosted by envoy Abdul Basit.
