Road accidents:Three died in North Kashmir

Sopore, Aug 17, CNS:  Two persons died while seven others were injured, three of them critically, after a passenger cab turned turtle at Sangri Top in Watlab area of north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Monday, police said.

Police said that driver of a speedy cab (JK05E-1920) lost control and turned turtle with a great velocity leaving all the 9 on board including the driver injured. “Two passengers died on spot while seven others were taken to nearby hospital,” he told CNS.

The deceased both residents of Ashtingoo Bandipora have been identified as Abdul Hamid Bhatand Fayaz Ahmad Fafoo.

All the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Sopore where from three were transferred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.

In Baramulla, a forest vehicle bearing registration number JK01C/3700 loaded with forest wood logs turned turtle near Asha post in the jurisdiction of Police Station Gulmarg, resulting in death of the driver Mohammad Rafiq Millo son of Noor Din Millo resident of Brandoub, Rafiabad. After completing medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. Baramulla police has registered a case in this regard. (CNS)
