SRINAGAR: The J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Akbar Jaipuri Memorial Committee Thursday jointly organized a function in the memory of late poet-writer, Akbar Jaipuri.
Noted Urdu critic and former Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, Prof. Hamidi Kashmiri was the chief guest on the occasion while noted broadcaster Farooq Nazki presided over the function.
Describing the late poet-writer as trendsetter Prof. Hamidi said that the contribution of late Akbar Jaipuri to Urdu literature was immense.
Echoing similar sentiments Farooq Nazki said that the kind and nature of work done by the late poet-writer was such that he deserved to be remembered and commemorated.
