Srinagar: The Chinar Corps of the Indian army Thursday organized a seminar on education entitled Education in Kashmir: A Prism of Possibilities for the Youth in the sprawling lawns of the world famous Cheshma Shahi garden.
The event was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Education.
Scores of eminent personalities connected to Education were the part of a well-attended audience that included principal of various schools and colleges, professors, academicians, media persons, and a host of other opinion makers of Kashmir.
While highlighting the role of education, Lt Gen Subrata Saha, Chinar Corps Commander after the keynote address by Maj Gen Asit Mistry, GOC, Kilo Force, said the children of Kashmir owing to their great potential can achieve heights if proper opportunities were extended to them.
Hopeful of the outcome of seminar, he said it would throw new, vibrant and dynamic ideas for the betterment of the educational system in the valley.
Commissioner Secretary, Department of Education, Shaleen Kabra, IAS, while accepting certain shortcomings in his department hoped that the efforts of various stake holders would revive the education system of the State.
