SRINAGAR: As a sequel to the ongoing Registration Camps that the Department of Handicrafts is currently organizing throughout Kashmir Division, Director Handicrafts, Gazanfar Ali today distributed more than 400 Artisan Cards to the Artisans of the Srinagar District. The registration of the artisans was done on spot after assessing their practical viability.
The concept of the on spot registration was appreciated by the artisans. All the facilities for on the spot registration were put in place by the Department. After registration, the artisans were made aware about the various schemes of the Government that are presently in vogue for their betterment.
With this the successful on spot registration programme for the District Srinagar concluded today. This will be followed by on the spot registration camps for the districts of Anantnag, Budgam, Baramulla, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Kupwara, Ganderbal and Bandipora as per the programme already notified by the Department of the Handicrafts.
