Govt reconstitutes J&K Sports Council

SRINAGAR: The Government today reconstituted Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (SSC).

The Council shall comprise 29 members with Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed  as President and Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari as the Vice-President.

There shall be four ex-officio members including Administrative Secretaries of Planning & Development Department, Finance Department, Youth Services & Sports and Director General Youth Services & Sports.

Another 23 members have been nominated among the categories of outstanding sports persons, members of recognised State Sports Associations, sports promoters & organisers and sports journalists and commentators.

Enforcement Wing of LAWDA demolished several illegal structures at Bonigam Shalimar on Wednesday.

Mrs. Usha Vohra, First Lady inaugurated “50th State Art Exhibition” organized by Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) at its premises here today. Artists from all over the State displayed their works, based on varied themes, which were made in stone, terracotta and wood and oil on canvas and aluminium, acrylic on canvas etc.
