Srinagar: J&K Yateem Foundation is conducting 13th Annual Higher Education Scholarship Programme (HESP) Entrance Examination-2015, on August 09 Sunday at 11:30 A.M., at Govt Boys (Old) Higher Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar.
As many as 300 candidates including around 100 female candidates are appearing in the entrance examination.
The result of written test will be announced on August 25, 2015 which shall be published in leading newspapers. The final selection list shall be issued on September 30, 2015 which shall be made public in leading newspapers.
As part of providing opportunity to the orphan and poor meritorious students, the Foundation is taking forward the initiative in the form of HESP since 2002-03.
Presently, the scholarship amount of Rs 6000/ per annum is paid in two installments. Since 2002, 500 scholarships have been awarded which includes sizeable number of girl students, till March 2015. An amount of approximately 01 Crore has been expended under this programme. During financial year 2014-15, an amount of Rs 15 lac has been spent under this programme. In Jammu Division, in first of its kind 23 candidates including 07 girls and 11 non-muslim candidates were selected for the award of HESP scholarships. Under HESP Professional programme started in 2004, an amount of Rs 12 lac has been spent from 2004 till 2014. Currently, 18 professional students are on rolls under this programme.
