Labour Board to be formed soon

SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today said that the Labour Board which looks after the needs and necessities of the labours would be constituted soon and the matter would be taken up with the Finance Ministry.

The Deputy Chief Minister was interacting with several deputations who projected the demand for constitution of the Labour Board.

The Deputy Chief Minister assured the deputations that the Government would initiate necessary steps for constitution of the said board which has not been constituted since last three years thereby resulting in hardships for the labour class. He said the Government is aware of the problems being faced and would take necessary steps for their redressal.

It is pertinent to mention that the labour board provides assistance to the labour class for educating their children, providing funds for marriages and also gives relief to them in view of natural calamity.
