JKLF stage protest

Srinagar: The pro-Independence Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Friday took out a protest rally against the continuous detention of resistance leaders and youths in various jails.

According to GNS correspondent, scores of JKLF supporters led by its vice president, Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, assembled at party’s office in Abi Guzar area and started massive sloganeering in favour of freedom and release of prisoners.

The protesters were carrying placards, banners and JKLF flags and were shouting slogans against the present regime as well as BJP and RSS. The protesters demanded unconditional release of all the prisoners and slammed Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed for detaining youths.

The JKLF protesters started marching towards Regal Chowk but were stopped by police near Press Enclave. On the occasion, the protesters resorted to massive sloganeering against the police action. The cops, however, detained them by bundling into vehicles and were taken to nearby police station even as JKLF supporters tried to resist the police.

Minister for Health and Medical Education, Lal Singh visited Narsoo (Dhramthal) and appreciated two youth Vikramjeet Singh and Rakesh Sharma for catching a militant alive. He announced Rs 50000 cash reward and IAY house to each one and also asked DC Udhampur to prepare their Job cases soon.
