Market checking intensified in Kupwara, Anantnag

KUPWARA, AUGUST 05: On the instructions of Depu-ty Commissioner, Kupwara, market checking under the super-vision of Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Kupwara was today conducted of different markets at District Headquar-ter Kupwara.

An amount of Rs. 5100/- were realized as fine from the erring traders. During the market checking about 60 Kgs of po-lythene carry bags were seized by the squad and destroyed on the spot.

Similarly on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, a joint market checking squad comprising Municipality, CAPD, Legal Metrology, Tehsildar Anantnag led by Assistant Commissioner Anantnag today checked various markets of the city and realized Rs. 3700/- as fine from erring traders and 30 kgs of polythene were also seized from the shopkeepers.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue revealed that the market checking will be further intensified across the dis-trict to prevent the unlawful profiteering and to ensure the sale of eatables on prescribed rates.
