Prasad is Secretary in Home Ministry

Srinagar: Former Director General of Jammu and Kashmir police Ashok Prasad has been appointed as Secretary of Home Ministry’s crucial Internal Security division.

The appointments committee of the union cabinet has approved the proposal for re-designation of the post held by Prasad as Secretary (Internal Security), as a measure personal to him, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training reads.

Prasad is a 1979 batch IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre. He was ap-pointed as Special Secretary (Internal Security) in Home Ministry on December 31, 2014. Prior to that, Prasad was posted as Special Director in Intelligence Bureau.
