ISIS flags waved in Nowhatta

Srinagar: Unidentified youth on Friday waved the flags of ISIS, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Pakistan in Nowhatta area of Old City.

Eyewitnesses told Srinagar-based news agency, GNS, that the youth appeared outside Jamia Masjid in the old city and started waved the flags of ISIS, LeT and Pakistan. They also shouted slogans in favour of ISIS, militants and Pakistan.

The youths later pelted stones on police and paramilitary. However, witnesses said, the police exercised restraint and didn’t use force against the youth. The youths later dispersed peacefully.

Meanwhile, Dukhataran-e-Millat and Muslim Khwateen Markaz held protests outside Jamia Masjid in solidarity with the Muslims of Jammu and Chenab region. The protesters also condemned the hanging of Yaqoob Memon.
