CRPF jawan shoots self dead

Srinagar: A paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper Wednesday committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Sopore area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

Official sources said that the trooper identified as Head Constable L R Thakrey, posted with C-company of 179th Battalion, was on sentry duty at Company headquarters at Chinkipora locality of Sopore when he shot himself today in the morning.

The trooper was immediately rushed to nearby hospital by his colleagues but the doctors declared him brought dead.

Meanwhile, police have filed a case in this regard. (GNS)
