Scores of shopkeepers at Rajouri Kadal armed with lathis caught hold of many masked youth and gave them a severe beating. “The traders carrying sticks and stones ran after the stone-pelters and thrashed them mercilessly,” said an eyewitness.

“We don’t know where from these youth emerge after every Friday Nimaz. They are not residents of these areas and these people always resort to stone-pelting without any reason. We have been incurring losses due to these elements,” said a shopkeeper adding that these stone-pelters are Indian agents who wave Pa-kistani and IS flags to defame Kashmiri movement. —-With inputs from CNS
