‘Raid on Teesta premises brazen misuse of state power’

New Delhi: The All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat, the umbrella body of Indian Muslim organisations and eminent personalities, condemned the CBI raid on a number of premises related to the renowned social and human rights activist Teesta Setalvad. AIMMM considered it a brazen misuse of state powers by the Modi government.

President of AIMMM, Dr. Zafarul-Islam Khan said today in a press statement that AIMMM condemns these raids and considers them as brazen misuse of state power by the BJP governments in Gujarat and at the Centre. Dr. Khan said that the BJP government’s move is simple vindictiveness against an activist who bravely and steadfastly stood against the perpetrators of the Gujarat pogrom of 2002 and helped the victims in all possible ways.

Dr. Khan asked the civil society to come out in support of Setalvad and other activists who have been fighting for the causes of the minorities and marginalised classes against the brazen, pro-Hindutva and pro-Corporate forces.
