Jammu youth converts to Islam

Srinagar: A young Hindu youth from Jammu has embraced Islam  triggering outrage among his family members, CNS reported Tuesday.

The report said that the Hindu youth identified as Sunny Kumar son of Ishpal Chand, a resident of Bari Brahmana Jammu, was converted by Maulana Adnan of Darul Uloom Qasmia at Lal Bazar. He was rechristened as Muhammad Fatheullah Islam.

Sunny Kumar who works at 92 Base Hospital Badami Bagh Srinagar has reportedly said he was highly influenced and decided to embrace Islam when he went through Bukhari Sharif.

“The character and living of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) fascinated me and it were His (PBUH) teachings that attracted me towards Islam,” he said.

When asked about the reaction of his family members, he said that as soon as they came to know about the development, they asked me to keep away from them and never to visit home. “There is much outrage in the family but I am sure and have faith in the Allah that everything will be alright,” he said.
