Caterer held for stale food
Srinagar: Police Tuesday sealed a hospital canteen and arrested one of its employee for selling stale food and for being totally unhygienic in nature.
Sources told CNS that after a complaint lodged by an attendant about stale food being served to customers inside Bones and Joints Hospital canteen Barzulla, a police party raided the canteen and arrested one of its employee. The owners of the canteen Mohinder Singh and Muhammad Amin reportedly fled from the scene.
A group of hospital employees told said that during the raid it was found that the owners of the canteen had sought permission from authorities to run the canteen two weeks ago.
The attendants informed police that the owners of the canteen were supplying unhygienic food to them on exorbitant rates. We are happy that action has been initiated against the owners of the canteen. They serve filthy and stale food to hapless attendants. They must be booked and punished, said an employee.
Medical Superintendent Bones and Joint Hospital Dr Shabir said that they will not allow the owners to run the canteen if it is proved that they serve stale and filthy food. (CNS)
