Youth drowns in Shopian

Srinagar: A youth drowned at Kadgam dam in Zainpora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday.

Sameer Ahmad Teli, a 12th class student, son of Ghulam Qadir of Daghpora, Shopian slipped into the dam and later got trapped inside it, a police official said.

He said that the body was recovered late in the evening with the help of local police, army and locals.

Meanwhile, a pall of galoom descended in the area when the body of Teli reached his home.
