16-year-old boy drowned in Handwara

Srinagar: A 16-year-old boy drowned while taking a bath in a stream at Kultoora area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Ataullah Lone son of Ghulam Ahmad Lone of Kultoora in order to beat the heat was taking a bath in a nearby stream when he drowned, the official said.

He said that the body was recovered hours after his drowning.

Meanwhile, a pall of galoom descended in the area when the body of Lone reached his home. (GNS)
