Srinagar:   Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahidin Tuesday paid glowing tribute to the wife of Ghulam Muhammad Bakhshi, who passed away Monday morning and extended sympathies with the bereaved family.

In a statement to CNS, Hizb spokesperson Salim Hashmi while quoting UJC chief Syed Salahuddin said that the mother Shakeel Ahmed Bakshi, Showkat Ahmed Bakshi and Sahrik Bakshi faced lot of hardship for sake of ongoing freedom struggle. “One of her brave son attained martyrdom while the resolve of  Shakeel and Showkat Ahmed Bakshi remained intact and they suffered heavily at the hands of oppressive forces,” he said.

Syed Salahuddin said that, “during Kashmir struggle mothers sacrificed more than anybody else and the mother we are paying tributes today sacrificed his three sons: Shariq Ahmad Bakhshi,   ISL chief Shakil Ahmad Bakhshi and JKLF leader Showkat Ahmad Bakshi for the sacred cause. Not only this, her husband Ghulam Muhammad Bakhshi also actively worked for the resistance movement and had to tolerate the hardships of jail and interrogation centers.”
