Srinagar: Government forces on Saturday afternoon conducted a search and cordon operation in restive Town of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Witnesses said that the  Special Operation Group (SOG) and army cordoned off Sopore Bus Stand and asked people there to stand up in lines.

“It was reminiscent of 90s. The forces conducted frisked people and also questioned them,” the witnesses said, adding that many people who had boarded buses for going to different places were also asked to come down and line up for questioning and frisking. The search operation was later called off and no one was detained by forces.
