5 gamblers held in Baramulla

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday arrested five gamblers in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, an official said here.

The official said that the five gamblers were arrested during a raid near R&B complex in the Town. “They were arrested while gambling,” the official said.

He identified the gamblers as Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, Reyaz Ahmad Sofi, Abdul Hameed Dar, Ghulam Nabi Gojri and Javeed Ahmad Mir.

“Stake money of 4550 rupees and five mobile phones were recovered from the gamblers,” the official said, adding that the playing cards were also recovered from them.

A case under FIR number 106/15 under section 13 Gambling Act registered have been registered in this regard, the official added. (GNS)
