Yasin Malik detained on way to Kulgam


Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik was detained along with his associates when he was on his way to Kulgam where two militants and a civilian were killed yesterday.

A JKLF spokesman said that Malik along with Noor Muhammad Kalwal and Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri were detained at Pantha Chowk here.

“Yasin Malik wanted to meet affected people and bereaved families of martyred but was stopped near Pantha chowk and arrested along with other leaders,” the spokesman said.

“Prior to his arrest, Yasin sahib while strongly condemning the firing, teargas shelling and ransacking of residential houses and shops by Indian forces under the garb of an encounter at Reddwani, said that unleashing a reign of terror on common people shows the level of frustration rulers and their forces are suffering from .

Paying rich tributes to the martyred youth of Redwani, Yasin Malik said that the blood of these innocent martyrs will not go waste and we today pledge to take forward the mission of these innocent martyrs to its logical end. While paying tributes to the martyrs JKLF chairman expressed solidarity with their bereaved families,” the JKLF spokesman added.
