Srinagar: Revenue official on Tuesday decided to go indefinitely strike against the alleged assault on a Nabi Tehsildar by locals at Shalteng in outskirts of Srinagar.
Today there was an attempt on life of one of our Naib Tehsildars at Shalteng while he was discharging his duties in compliance with high court directions regarding felling down of Russian poplar trees, Bashir Ahmad, district president Srinagar Patwar association said.
He said that despite working overnight since last years floods, there have a number of attacks on them but the government remained unmoved.
We feel insecure and today we, assistant commissioners, tehsildars, patwars and all related staff, decided to go on indefinite strike and we will not resume duties till government resolves our demands, he said.
