BARAMULLA: Three officers of an intelligence agency sustained splinter injuries in a grenade blast that took place inside an army camp in Baramulla district on Monday.
Official sources said that the device went off today at 10:00 AM inside the office of intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) resulting in the injuries to its three officials. The office is located at Deewanbagh near Saint Joseph Hospital inside the army’s 19 Infantry Division Headquarters.
Due to the blast, the office room also got damaged, they said.
The injured officials have been identified as Ankur Nagre, Sameer Koul and Ashok Kumar; all are Area Field Officers and have been immediately shifted to nearby military hospital where from they were referred to army’s 92 base hospital here in Srinagar.
“The condition of Ashok Kumar is said to be critical”, they said.
Meanwhile, a police official while confirming the incident said that the blast took place inside the camp and whether it is a grenade or some other kind of blast is being ascertained. (GNS)
