2 held for hoisting Pak flags

Srinagar, June 18: Police on Thursday said to have arrested two persons involved in hoisting of Pakistani flags last week in Old City of Srinagar district.

A police official told Global News Service (GNS) that a special police team was constituted to identify the elements involved in hoisting of Islamic State Flags and Pakistani flags in Nowhatta area of Old city in two separate incidents last week.

“During two separate raids – police arrested two persons identified as Waseem Dar of Soura and Suhail Ahmad Beigh from Baramulla “, he said, adding that some Pakistani flags were also recovered from their possession.

The officer, however, said that their role in hoisting of Islamic State Flags is being ascertained.

He said that the duo was identified after going through CCTV footage.

Recently, there has been number of incidents involving hoisting of Pakistani and ISIS flags in Kashmir Valley particularly in old city.
