Panic in Sopore after accidental fire

SOPORE: Panic gripped in volatile area of apple town Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after a service rifle of a CRPF trooper went off accidentally.

A police official said that an accidental fire went off from a constable of CRPF 179 bn who was posted near town hall adjacent to SP office Sopore. However, there was no injury reported to anyone.

Soon after the gunshot, the forces including police, CRPF and army started searches and it continued for several minutes before they came to know it was an accidental fire.

Meanwhile, despite repeated attempts concerned Station House Officer (SHO) could not be contacted for the comment. (GNS)
