Asks for making footpaths free to commu-ters
SRINAGAR, JUNE 08: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of Traffic Man-agement Plan (TMP) for Srinagar city.
The Div Com had an appraisal from the officers about the TMP which envisages smooth plying of traffic and removal of bottlenecks to make the traffic system hassle free in Srinagar city.
Dr. Samoon also received suggestions from the con-cerned officers to enable the administration to ensure smooth plying of traffic in Srinagar especially from Batmaloo to Dal-gate, Jehangir Chowk, Abdullah bridge and other congested spots of the city.
The Div Com gave directions for removal of encroach-ments made by shopkeepers on footpaths. He directed Com-missioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation to launch a vigorous drive to make the footpaths free for commuters.
Senior Civil and Police officers who attended the meet-ing include Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Vice Chairman LAWDA, Transport Commissioner, Chief Engineers of R&B & ERA, SSP Traffic Srinagar, Chief Town Planner and other officers.
