Geelani hails Raheel Sharif

Srinagar: While welcoming the Kashmir related statement of Pakistan army chief General Raheel Sharif, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Thursday said that he had described a Himalayan reality in his statement and no conscious person can deny the historical perspective of Kashmir dispute.

In a statement he alleged that the Kashmir dispute is the only creation of India, who not caring about the principles of partition, sent its troops to Kashmir and occupied this land against the wishes of its people and is still continuing its forced occupation there.

Geelani praised the Pakistani army chief for adopting a clear and courageous stand about the Kashmir and he openly supports the right to self determination of the Kashmiri nation. He suggested the Indian rulers that instead of reacting to the statement of Pakistani army chief, they should cool mind think over this statement and adopt an appropriate approach in this regard.

“The rigid, stubborn and arrogant policies have failed to resolve the Kashmir issue in the past and nor can this way this puzzle be solved in the future also.
