Market checking intensified in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: The Enforcement squad headed by Assistant Director, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Kashmir conducted market inspections from May 09 to May 28, 2015 in the Srinagar city and booked erring traders for violating Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

The markets of Batmaloo, Bemina, Barbar Shah, Malla Bagh, Soura, Saidpora, Botanical Garden, Brane, Ishbar, Baba Demb, Saida Kadal, Habak, Awanti Bhawan, Gagribal, Nishat etc. were inspected during the process.

During the inspection, 220 business establishments were inspected and Rs. 25,000/- were recovered as fine from 33 erring shopkeepers. One mutton shop stands also sealed at Buchpora for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
