‘Please dismantle towers from our premises’

SOPORE: Residents in Sopore, on whose land cellular companies have erected towers, were pleading with the telecom companies to dismantle them from their yards and respective houses.

“I want to inform people through media that the mobile tower on my land has gone defunct. Now I want the cellular company to dismantle it without any delay. I can’t take any chances as you see two innocent people were killed in the town,” said a landlord from Ninglipora Sopore.

Another landlord in whose premises Aircel tower is located said that he fears for his life and wants the cellular company to dismantle the tower as soon as possible. “My little children, especially my wife is so scared that they have’nt slept for a minute after the news of killing in Dooru reachied us Tuesday evening. Please don’t mention my name but give a message to the people responsible for the killing of a landlord and BSNL employee that threatening people will serve no purpose and due to telecommunication disconnectivity, it will be people who will suffer,” another resident said.
