SANAA: Yemeni army forces and members of Popular Committees have taken control of a strategic military base in Saudi Arabia, as Riyadh continues its military campaign against Yemen.
On Friday, Yemeni soldiers and Popular Committees fighters seized control of the al-Mezab base in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen, the Arabic-language al-Masirah satellite television network reported.
The Saudi forces in the base fled the site en masse.
The Yemeni forces released footage of the military base following the operation to seize it.
Earlier on Thursday, Yemens army and Popular Committees took control of al-Tuwal heights in the Jizan region of southwestern Saudi Arabia.
Yemens al-Masirah reported back then that the Yemeni forces entered the mountainous area near the border with Yemen and destroyed several Saudi military vehicles as well as ammunition.
