Monthly stipend to KPs enhanced

SRINAGAR: Monthly cash assistance to Migrant Kashmiri Pandit (KP) families has been hiked from 6600 to Rs 10,000 per family per month.  The Centre has cleared the proposal of the state government in this regard.

“The KP families will get hiked assistance from May,” Relief and rehabilitation commissioner (migrants) RK Pandita reportedly said.

According to sources the hike will benefit 63,000 registered migrant families, and will cost the central government Rs 120 crores annually.
