JAMMU: BJP today said that AIIMS and Artificial Lake projects are very much for Jammu and no question arises of shelving them.
“AIIMS, as well as Artificial Lake project, are very well there for Jammu and there is no question of shelving any of these prestigious projects,” BJP State president and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma told reporters here this afternoon. He was flanked by MP Shamsher Singh Manhas and MLA Sat Pal Sharma. “Opposition is making a mountain out of a mole hill. BJP stands committed for both the Projects for Jammu,” he added. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had recently said that AIIMS was sanctioned for Kashmir, while also hinting at shelving the Artificial Lake project in Jammu. The BJP president, however, also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi government at the Centre for enhancing the monthly wages of SPOs from Rs 3000 to Rs 6000. The government has fulfilled its promise to over 25000 SPOs working in the state, he added. Meanwhile, MLA Sat Pal Sharma said the party has always expressed its concern towards the welfare and upliftment of the SPOs, who have been working in very risky situations in far flung and remote areas, infested by terrorists.
