Srinagar: Government on Wednesday declared that to more than 4.5 lakh people in the state, new ration cards will be allotted and the process shall start from the first day of Ramzan.
CAPD Minister Choudary Zulfikar Ali said ration will be provided to the households as per the 2011 census and that to more than 4.5 lakh people, new ration cards will be allotted.
The minister maintained that till the GOI allots ration to the consumers as per census 2011, the state government would utilize its own resources to ensure that peoples woes could somehow be mitigated at an earliest.
The minister also made it clear that there will be neither any curtailment nor any addition in the allocation of the BPL cards in the state and that the earlier figures would continue to remain in vogue.
