Srinagar: Several  bodies of doctors in Valley today threatened to launch an agitation if Dr Nisar ul Hassan, the president of Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK) was not reinstated immediately.

The Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK), Resident Doctors Association (RDA) of SMHS and associated hospitals and Resident Doctors Association (RDA) of SKIMS expressed disappointment over the continued suspension of Dr Hassan.

“The members unanimously decided that if DAK president is not reinstated immediately doctors of the valley will go for indefinite strike,” a joint statement said.

Addressing the meeting, General Secretary DAK, Dr Suhail Naik said that Dr Hassan unearthed the spurious drug scam in the valley in which some top authorities were involved.

“They hatched a conspiracy and fabricated a false and frivolous case against Dr Nisar,” he said adding that the authorities are adopting every means to scuttle reinstatement of Dr Nisar. “His suspension has meant  untold sufferings for his family and patients who are under his treatment and follow up.”

Dr Adil Ashraf, President RDA SMHS and associated hospitals termed the DAK president’s suspension  “illegal and unjustified”.
