Srinagar: To streamline flow of traffic in old city, Traffic police Srinagar has deployed personnel at all the important locations like Hawal, Gojwara, Nowhata, Rajouri Kadal, Bohri Kadal, Khanyar, Ikhwan Chowk, Sekidafar and SMHS Crossing.

SSP Traffic Srinagar Haseeb-ur-Rehman said for the smooth flow of traffic and to provide relief to commuters who have been complaining about absence of traffic police personnel from such locations, the step was taken. “Neglected areas will be given due priority and all the critical intersections will be covered in due course of time,” the SSP Traffic said.

He said that a proposal regarding installation of traffic signals in downtown city has been submitted to Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and in coming months they are likely to be installed at all important junctions there.

“We are working to improve traffic scenario in Srinagar and for this cooperation of general public is a prerequisite. If people have any traffic related problem they should dial traffic police toll free number 18001807091 for redressal of their genuine grievances,” he added.

The SSP Traffic requested people to be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem.
