Minister suspends two officials

Srinagar:  A senior officer of the rural development department and District Panchayat Officer were placed under suspension on the directions of the Minister for remaining absent from duty in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Official sources said that the minister of rural development department and Panchayati Raj Abdul Haq Khan paid a surprise visit to block development offices at Budgam and found District Panchayat Officer and Executive Engineer of Rural Engineering Wing absent from the duty.

The Minister placed both the officers under suspension for remaining absent from duty and attached them with the Directorate of Rural Development Department (RDD), Kashmir. He directed the Deputy Director Administration, RDD to conduct an enquiry and submit report within a week in this regard.

“These officers are the servants of the public and they have no right to make people suffer who visit them with a hope to get their problems addressed. I will take stern action against the absentees and also against those who display a callous attitude towards the problems of people,” Abdul Haq Khan said adding that his government is keen to address the problems of people in time.
