Keep close eye on mischievous elements: IGP


Srinagar: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone SJM Gellani chaired a review meeting on his visit to Police District Pulwama besides addressed a Darbar of officers and personnel at District Police Lines, Pulwama.

The IGP during a visit to District Pulwama chaired a review meeting that was attended by Nitish Kumar Deputy Inspector General of Police SKR Anantnag, Tajinder Singh SP Pulwama, Altaf Ahmad Khan SSP Shopian, ASP Pulwama Javaid Iqbal, DYSP Hqrs Pulwama, DYSP DAR Pulwama, DYSP Ops Pulwama. IGP directed officers to keep a constant eye on “mischievous elements who misguide gullible youth to violence and act tough on such miscreants.”

Referring to the apprehending of six boys of tender age in Shopian “who were being taken by these elements for using them as cannon fodder to recruit them in a militant outfit”, he emphasized that such elements need to be identified and tough action may be initiated against them.

He also emphasized that potential targets of such elements need to be focused on and in cooperation with their parents proper counseling services should be provided.

The IGP added that the attitude and behavior of the police at cutting edge level need to be refined so that the people could avail our services in a positive way.
