Man Parcels Ladies Suits, Gets Bundle of Papers

Srinagar: A man from Kashmir who parceled ladies suits from Pune Maharashtra for his daughter received a bundle of entertainment magazines, giving him a rude shock.

Azad Ahmed Khan, a resident of Wazir Bagh Srinagar while displaying the bundle of coverless magazines said that on April 14, he dispatched a parcel containing ladies suits worth Rs 25000 through counter number one of General Post Office (GPO) Pune 28 Hadapsar Maharashtra. “I paid Rs 350 to the GPO employee there and flew back to Valley,” Khan said.

“I received my parcel through post office Jawahar Nagar on April 24 and was dumbfound after opening it. Instead of ladies suits, we found a bundle of coverless magazines titled as ‘Pallikkutam’ and ‘Tracce’ of April 2015 edition. We all were shocked and since then I have been wandering from pillar to post while the GPO employees are feigning ignorance about the matter. Post Office employees are not ready to fix responsibility on anyone,” he said adding that he has been cheated by the government run post offices.

When contacted, Chief Post Master General J&K Circle Chandher Prakash said that it is a serious matter and he will look into it. “I suggest the person to file a written complaint in GPO Srinagar so that we could take up the matter with the Pune officials,” he said. (CNS)
